MONTANA FILM OFFICE JOINS HISTORIC BUTTE-CENTRIC TRANS MEDIA PRODUCTION
This Thursday, June 26, the Montana Film Office will join CHISEL Industries and Headframe Spirits’owners John and Courtney McKee, for a press conference in the historic Orphan Girl Hoist House in Butte, Mont.
Supported by the Big Sky Film Grant, CHISEL and the McKees are looking to leverage the trans-media project into a larger story about the innovative minds that built and developd Butte and the surrounding areas as economic leaders once again.
The three entities are coming together to discuss Butte’s newest collaborative venture, “The Orphan Girl”, a short film that will serve as a part of the larger “The Spirit of Butte” campaign.
Grant funds will be used to support the production of the “Orphan Girl” short which is hiring exclusively Montana crew members, renting equipment from Montana-based production companies, and hiring Butte natives such as (Brick “Prigge” Patrick, Ken Bates, Tom Malloy, and Rebecca Radoicich) as lead actors along with 20-30 extras.
Said CHISEL Industries, “With the help of this effort, they [Headframe Spirits] are not only projected to triple their economic impact within the state of Montana, but are striving to help promote economic development in Butte.”
