Whether you like craft spirits or just great storytellers, this episode of Life, Distilled is for you. In this one, we visit Steel Toe Distillery in Potomac, Montana and enjoy some of Uncle Carl's hospitality, as well as his whiskey.
Carl comes at distilling from a perspective that we can really appreciate. To paraphrase one of our favorite quotes of the day (which unfortunately didn't make it on camera or audio) he explains, in what I do, if I see 15% growth, that's a bad thing. In another gem, he tells us about the time two bankers stop in and when the senior one asks his partner "are we backing this?", the response is "you ask him." Priceless, and we don't just mean the stories.
Steel Toe Distillery is a nano-distillery in Potomac, Montana situated on what was once a wolf sanctuary, owned and operated by Carl Bock. Carl crafts spirits from a sugar base in the moonshiner style that are both delicious and decidedly unique.
