craft spirits Kings County Distillery micro-distillery whiskey

News from the Kings County Tasting Room

Wednesday, November 20, 2013
Our friends over at Kings County Distillery have been busy with the release of their Guide to Urban Moonshining and other interesting projects, but the beauty of whiskey is that it usually only gets better when its left alone. Fortunately for us, the crew at Kings had the forethought to barrel some awhile back, so that we can enjoy it now.

Colin and David are pleased to announce they’ll be pouring and selling their limited-edition Spiced Whiskey, which has been aged one year in used cooperage with cinnamon, clove, and other holiday spices, making it the perfect companion for toddies and egg nog. They have also added to the selection of hard goods available in their tasting room, offering items such as vintage Appalachian quilts and rare, early editions of books about whiskey.

The distillery is open for tours every Saturday afternoon, excepting the Saturday after Christmas, from 2:30-5:30. Tours (with a tasting included) are $8; no reservations required. Visit them by entering the Brooklyn Navy Yard at the Sands Street Gate (the corner of Sands and Navy Streets, near Dumbo and Vinegar Hill)
