Rogue - A Spirited Revolution

Wednesday, February 5, 2014
Rogue has long been known for their exceptional ales, stouts and lagers, products made using ingredients grown on their own farms in Independence and Tygh Valley, Oregon. Their commitment to quality and innovation is eclipsed only by their staunch refusal to compromise their integrity, and their entrance into the realm of craft spirits is founded in this same commitment . So it is of no great surprise to hear of their being named "Distillery of the Year" at the World Beverage Competition in Geneva, Switzerland.

Of nearly equal import is the fact that, win or no win, Rogue probably wouldn't change a thing. Rogue bills itself as a "revolution in fermentation", which beyond being a handy marketing tool, is quite likely the plain truth. In another spot on their website, they point out that "craft spirits is in the same place where craft brewing was 25 years ago", a time frame that just so happens to coincide with the number of years Rogue products have blessed the marketplace. And their "Declaration of Interdependence", an irreverent parody of America's founding document that forms the basis for the Rogue Nation, conveys the "full Power to levy War against the Status Quo". All signs of a company that knows where it stands in the world, and is pretty happy with the view.

Viva la revolucion!
