It was no surprise to find
Trailhead Spirits judged among the winners at the craft industry's two most prestigious events. When we
sat down with Casey McGowan of Trailhead last fall to sample several of their Montana made spirits, we were quite taken with their gin, in particular the cask rested Healy's Reserve. Apparently the judges at the inaugural
American Craft Distillers Association competition and the
American Distillers Institute annual convention agreed, awarding a bronze medal to Healy's Gin at the former and a silver medal to Healy's Reserve at the latter.
And while Trailhead's mention at the ADI awards gala last Tuesday night definitely captured our attention, they certainly weren't the only craft label to be honored. Before a packed house, Andrew Faulkner of ADI presented awards across a broad spectrum of spirits, both micro-distilled and craft. To be sure, any one of them is worth asking for at your local package store or bar, and we would highly recommend you do.
