Did a Pig Dig This Up?

Friday, December 11, 2015
There are a lot of flavored vodkas out there, from huckleberry to smoked salmon, some of which are amazing and some of which don't really sound, or taste, all that appealing. Where Duckworth Distillery's Truffle Flavored Vodka falls in that continuum is probably up to the individual palate, but thing is for certain - its damn intriguing.

Truffles, of course, are the black gold of edible fungi, and their reputation as one of the world's foremost delicacies is surely testament unto itself. But vodka?

As odd as such an expression may seem at first, the more you think about it, the more curious you become. What would that taste like? How would I drink it - straight up or in a cocktail? A truffle martini? Suddenly, this is starting to sound pretty good.

Another consideration working in Duckworth's favor is that, at least in the realm of craft spirits, the more bizarre the flavor, the better it seems to work. Except for marshmallow. Whoever thought of that should be flogged.

As always, we recommend you give it a try. And let us know what you think at @microshiner on Twitter and Instagram. We'd love to hear from you.
