Merz b. Schwanen is a textile manufacturer based upon the legacy of its namesake and 31 unique circular knitting machines. After several years of disuse, Rudolf Loder, Gitta and Peter Plotnicki reinstated the brand to its original glory in 2011. Once again Merz b. Schwanen is crafting distinct garments using production processes all native to Germany, where sewing is performed by independent manufacturers in the Swabian Alps, labels are loomed on a traditional Jaquard loom from the 19th century, and even the boxes are produced by a family business following the original designs. These authentic production processes turn every single Merz b. Schwanen garment into something personal and unique – filled with passion and appreciation from every man and woman involved.

#Handcrafted: Durable Goods from @WhippingPost
Whipping Post is a durable goods maker in Atlanta, GA. It is the epiphany of Ryan Barr, who cites a string of failed careers and the need for a new strap on his guitar as impetus for launching the business. Well crafted totes and duffles with simple straightforward design are Whipping Post's staples, bags that meet the need and will never go out of style. Leather and metal are the medium, and the products genuine works of art.
