2bar Bourbon is Back

Wednesday, November 27, 2013
Just in time for the holidays, 2bar Spirits has released the 2nd batch of their 2bar Bourbon. The first batch of their all local, made in Seattle bourbon sold out in less than 2 weeks (you see what we're doing with the 2 there?) and batch #2 was bottled but 2 days ago. Mashed, fermented, distilled, aged and bottled entirely in Seattle, 2bar Bourbon is made from 95% Washington and 5% Oregon sourced grains, and has notes of butterscotch and vanilla upfront with a honeyed finish. It is bottled in 375ml glass at 100 proof and is available in the 2bar Spirits tasting room or a number of other locations around the Sound.

When you stop in to get yours please also consider bringing a donation of cold weather clothing for Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. Anything warm, such as socks, blankets, and jackets, are needed and all donations go directly to UGM.

1st Ever Garage Grocer CO Spirits Tasting

Thursday, February 7, 2013
On Saturday, February 9th, Garage Grocer in Longmont will be hosting a spirits tasting beginning at 4pm. The tasting will feature Colorado micro-distillers and they will have one or more bottles from 12 different Colorado distillers for your tasting pleasure. The photo below is a visual sampling of the handcrafted spirits that will be available to enjoy.

This will be a rain-or-shine (or snow) and completely family-friendly event. The tasting will be hosted in the Garage, and there will also be an open house for the Garage Grocer starting at 3pm. Foods and samples from the Garage, and while not an official dinner, there will be plenty of food and non-alcoholic drinks as well.

For those that don't know, the Garage Grocer is a unique concept that connects neighbors with local Colorado foods and products. From range-raised beef to handmade lotions, the Garage works to provide the Longmont area with direct access to local producers. If you live in the Old Town Longmont neighborhood, you have probably already encountered them – if not, come out to the tasting and see what its all about!

All the products are distributed directly from the Garage location in old town Longmont. Members can ‘come shopping in the garage’ to get local products straight from the producers. The goal is simple - to make it easy and affordable for local foods and products to get to the neighborhood.

As a reminder, the tasting is not a sponsored event, just a great opportunity to sample some local spirits. (And it goes without saying - please walk/ride/have a DD/ride home if you plan to sample.) PJs Wine and Spirits have been a great resource in planning the tasting, so a special thanks to them for all their help and support. (P.S. - If you like any of the bottles you taste, PJs carries most of the brands. Keep up the theme and go local!)

Thanks, and hope to see you on the 9th.
